New Zealand soldier and official. Served in China (1940-1941) and became a Japanese POW in Hong Kong (1942-1944). Goodwin escaped from the camp in July 1944. Served as an Inspector with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) in China 1946-1948 and UNICEF 1948-1950. Emigrated to Australia in 1958.
